Engineering Mathematics- Linear Algebra, Calculus, Probability & Statistics, Numerical methods, Differential Equations

General Aptitude: The questions will be asked from Quantitative Aptitude- Number system, LCM & HCF, Probability, Permutation & Combination, Boats & Streams, Time & work, Time & Distance, Bars & Charts, Simple & Compound Interest, Mixtures

The Biotechnology field course contains-

Molecular Biology and Genetics: Molecular structure of genes, DNA replication & control, Transcription, prokaryotes and eukaryotes controls, Mendelian & Gene interaction, inheritance, Population genetics

Process Biotechnology

Microbiology: This will include the study of cell structures like Prokaryotic and eukaryotic, nutrition, metabolism, Nitrogen fixation; Microbial diversity. All topics are upto the microbial level.

Biochemistry: Biomolecules, Weak inter-molecular interactions, enzymes, Metabolism, Cell signaling and signal transduction are covered in this section. Study the basic topics of each section.


Bioprocess Engineering

Plant and Animal Biotechnology: There are different cells, plant growth, kinetics, methodology into the organisms both plant and animals. These are to be studied.

Characteristics of Animal cells: Metabolism, regulation, product formation, Micro & macro-carrier culture, Genetic engineering in animal cell, nutritional requirements, Kinetics

Immunology: Study all the basics of immunology which include MHC, Hyper sensitivity, Autoimmunity, Antibody secretion

Recombinant DNA Technology: The basics of technology should be clear with every individual. The topics- Restriction and modification enzymes, bacteriophages, cosmids, Ti plasmid, Gene isolation & cloning, Expression of cloned gene, Transposons and gene targeting, DNA labeling & sequencing, DNA fingerprinting are included in the exam.

Bioinformatics: NCBI, EBI, ExPASy, Sequence and structure databases, scoring matrices, sequence, Genomics, Proteomics, Understanding DNA microarrays, Molecular modeling and simulations.
