The applicants of the exam have to check the syllabus of exam because it is the base on how the exam preparations are to be done. GATE Syllabus for Instrumentation 2017 exam will include the questions from Instrumentation domain and Engineering Mathematics.
The common subject to all engineering streams- Engineering Mathematics is the part of exam. It will include the topics such as Algebra, Differential equations, probability, statistics, transform theory, complex variables, non- linear algebraic equations.
Followed by this section, is the section of instrumentation domain in which the questions will be asked from-
Transducers: Displacement, pressure, flow, temperature, force, torque, force, velocity, acceleration
Analog Electronics & Digital Electronics
Basics of circuits: Kirchoff’s laws, mesh & nodal analysis, error and uncertainty analysis, circuit theorems, uncertainty analysis
Signals & Communication: Periodic & non periodic signals, convolution, sampling theorem, ampltitude shift keying
Control Systems & Process Control
Analytical & Biomedical instrumentation: Fiber optics, EEG, ECG & EMG, Clinical measurements, Ultrasonic transducers, ultrasonography, computer assisted tomography, X ray and nuclear radiation measurements, mass spectrometry, photo diode, photo resistor
Electrical and Electronic Measurements: Potentiometers, Bridges, Measurements of pressure, voltage, current, power, frequency, phase, time, Cathode ray oscilloscope
Study all the topics well for the exam by referring the best books for the exam so that you are able to score well in the exam.
