There are several competitive exams being held from all engineering domains. There are 22 GATE exam papers conducted every year. GATE Exam Syllabus is the most important thing which should be the first focus of all applicants. Syllabus for GATE Exam includes the questions from-

- Engineering Mathematics
Under Engineering stream, the topics included are the ones which are studied in the degree course. GATE is a Computer Based Test, in which the candidates need practice to solve the questions. In Engineering Mathematics paper, the candidates should practice the questions related to it. It is important to study equally well for both the type of questions. Study for the exam in a well formed way so that you don’t leave a loophole from your end.
Mathematics Engineering will include the questions from below topics and this section is common for all branches-
Linear Algebra: Questions related to Matrix Algebra, Systems of Linear Equations, Eigen vectors and values are asked.
Calculus: In this section, questions related to Gauss and Green’s theorems, Mean value theorems, Theorems of integral calculus, Evaluation of definite and improper integrals, Maxima and minima, Multiple integrals, Fourier series. Vector identities, Partial Derivatives, Directional derivatives, Line, Surface and Volume integrals, Stokes are asked.
Differential equations: In this section, questions related to First order equation (linear and nonlinear), Higher order linear differential equations with constant coefficients, Method of variation of parameters, Cauchy’s and Euler’s equations, Initial and boundary value problems, Partial Differential Equations and variable separable method are asked.
Probability and Statistics: In this section, questions related to Sampling theorems, Conditional probability, Mean, median, mode and standard deviation, Random variables, Discrete and continuous distributions, Poisson, Normal and Binomial distribution, Correlation and regression analysis are asked.
Numerical Methods: In this section, questions related to Solutions of non-linear algebraic equations, single and multi-step methods for differential equations.
Complex Variables: In this section, questions related to Analytic functions, Cauchy’s integral theorem and integral formula, Taylor’s and Laurent’ series, Residue theorem, solution integrals are asked.
Transform Theory: Fourier transforms, Laplace transform, Z-transform are asked.
